This is a very professional setup |

The SM2 module does pretty much everything you could want from a
newsletter module. The Pros are particularly its handling of mailing
lists, letting you use data from Community Builder, the main database
and a lot of other components.

A more precise system of filters to help with building lists would
be appreciates, including a filter that would allow you to add a
particular subgroup to an existing list as a batch. But this is icing
on a good cake.
Another possible feature is previewing of the mail message as if seen
through webmail clients like hotmail and yahoo, as well as through
common local clients like mail and outlook.
I take the time to write this review and make these suggestions, partly
due to the extreme usefulness of this component, and partly because I
am bowled over by the support.
I have asked some good questions, and also some really dumb ones, and
although I sometimes imagine the grinding of teeth from the other end,
I always get amazingly clear responses, very fast, often with the
support person going in to the back end and spotting things I have
overlooked.
The component can be demanding to run, you have to be precise, and be
comfortable rooting around in your file system in order to modify the
templates, for instance to remove options from the signup form, but
this is a pro component, and the effort pays off in the solid
functionality it provides.
