SM2 is the most suitable extension for e-mail marketers or online publications with periodical newsletters. Though not as feature rich as an industry scale mailing provider, it does a terrific delivery job, the template system is easy to understand, assembling a message is intuitive and managing subscribers is well organized.

The backend interface is clean and logical.It provides minimum readership stats by tracking HTML messages and plots the results to graphics. Handles bouncing superbly if your relay server does not rewrite the message headers.The latest version supports secure connections, making integration with Googe Mail a lot easier. The only major "flaw" i have to report is the licensing model. Property, encrypted and dependable on remote validation.

I am VERY impressed by the SM2 Email marketing extension. It is the best written extension I have seen for Joomla so far. I am translating it to Danish right now, and the language file itself really shows the quality of this component. Excellent work.

The SM2 module does pretty much everything you could want from a newsletter module. The Pros are particularly its handling of mailing lists, letting you use data from Community Builder, the main database and a lot of other components.

I have just today bought and tested this component and feel it is (at least for my needs) the easiest and most complete newsletter component for Joomla 1.5.

 I'm from Chile and I bought SM2EmailMarketing 1 year ago. Since this moment that Guys has been improving the component until a level really incredible ... for me, work really fine where every 15 days i'm sending very professionals newsletter. The only thing i want recommend to SM2 is improve the statistics (know where the users are doing clicks etc) ...

This is the second time that I'm using the email marketing component offered by SM2Joomla. I was so impressed with the way the component worked my first time for one of my clients (www.TradingDr.com) that I decided I wanted to use it on our own corporate Joomla site (www.AxsysTechGroup.com).

This is really a model component when it comes to documentation and intuitive navigation. The component is easy to use and powerful, updates are frequent. Great work! I'm no fan of decrypted files though, it would be perfect if the developers found another solution to protect their work.

I added your component and the problems went instantly away. Now we KNOW that all emails went out and even exactly who reads them. So many other great features I could go on and on!

This component is worth the $, even for only 1 install each. Such a HUGE improvement over the stock J! Mass Mail. The email throttling may be just the trick if you have a longer list (over 1000) and have experienced server timeouts or you'd just like to know not only that they were all delivered, but that some were read, and not only that, you can see SPECIFICALLY who read which one. This is a powerful marketing tool (and there are LOADS of other great features for great-looking email templates, J! users vs. email only lists, create niche lists for good shoppers, etc.). Tons of features, and it all worked perfect 1st try. Ion Cube was not hard to install at all, and I did it on 1and1 shared hosting, which people have claimed is difficult (not been my experience). Get package, unzip, ftp files to J! root. Done. What was so hard about that? But wait, it gets better. Plugins for many popular add-ons like CB and VirtueMart. Old emails can be saved and copied modified to test market/save time, emails are archived for viewing on your site (awesome), and best of all, you can use ANY piece of content to create the email content (SUCH an AWESOME feature!). Whole articles with pics embedded/attached, or just a list of intros and "Read more..." links. It can do attachments, as well. And, last, but not least, it has auto-unsubscribe to make list managment easier and keep you in CAN/SPAM compliance. Want better email marketing for your J! site? Get this component.

I tested several of the popular newsletter programs and purchased SM2 Email Marketing. While I found bugs in most of the packages I tried, SM2 has been very stable. The support team was excellent and really worked with me to get the system running the way that it needed to. They really went above & beyond the call of duty. The statistics are very powerful - showing exactly who has and has not opened the messages, plus the usual stats. I especially like the ability to build numerous templates upon which to base the actual messages - a real time saver. SM2 has clearly made a big investment into market research, product development, testing, and support - it really shows. This is a top notch package.

Autoresponders mean different things to different people - with some its a newsletter signup / management component, with others its a sequential messaging system.

For pure newsletter features, sm2 email marketing is pretty hard to beat. some may balk at the ioncube loader, but i haven't had any issues with it. The autobounce features plus the plugin / templating functionality works for me.
