Newsletter - 2009/02/08 03:35 Hi,

You have a great product. I have one query for you before i buy this product. I totally understand how to make a new template.

When i go to create a new newsletter, i select the template which i did. however this doesnt let me insert text where i want in that template. hope you understand what i mean. In the template editor as well, it doesnt open the default editor that i have in joomla.

Any Suggestions

Unfortunately I do not really understand what the issue is here.

When creating a message you use the provided Editor to enter any HTML content of the message, and can then enter the text content of the message as well. Whilst editing you do not see the template at all. Once you preview the message you will see the content entering into the template.
You must use the correct tags in the template to include the content. See the help for more information about the tags.

We do not use the Joomla! Editor when creating a SM2 Email Marketing Template, just as you cannot use the Editor when editing a Joomla! template, because the editors are only designed to enter small sections of content. They cannot and do not create the correct HTML headers etc that are required for the HTML Message Template.

Hope this helps

Re:Newsletter - 2009/02/09 17:58 Hi,

To better understand the problem, please login to www.vijayshetty.com (this is a demo site)

Please have a look on the right hand side, i have 2 newsletter. Best1 and Best2.

Best1 is the acajoom and Best2 is yours.

Now please login to the backend, username admin and password is admin.

Please go to Components->Acajoom->Newsletters
Now select ->Newsletter Malvern (from the drop down)
Click New

You will notice that the default template automatically loads as the bg which gives me the flexibility to place the contents and images wherever i want. Is this possible in SM2.

Waiting for your answer.

Regards
VJ

SM2 Email Marketing is not Acajoom, obviously, and we do things our own way.

We do NOT include the content of the template into the message editor because it is not possible to reliably get the Joomla! editor to function with a correct HTML email template without replacing a lot of the Joomla! core functions for including the editor.

We therefore chose not to include the content in the editor and instead you use the Preview to see what the message will look like.

In the future please log a support request in our helpdesk as the forums are for community feedback and discussion and not support
