Sorry, security check failed - 2007/08/18 12:57 Hi,

I've just installed SM2 Lite and am playing around with it (and may say I'm content with the possibilities and features !).

I've set up a list for testing and getting acquainted with SM2. I prepare a template and message and send this out.

Then I'm testing the unsubscribe functionality. Basically (I've changed the e-mail address) this is the link that is followed when clicking the "Unsubscribe":

http://lotgrotduiken.eu/index.php?option=com_sm2emailmarketing&task=unsubscribe&email=name@example.com&code=c32b63babbfc755e2ea6787d7751f39a

The website is opened (in Firefox 2.0.0.6) with this message:
Sorry, security check failed

As I am a newbie at SM2, I reckoned it must be something obvious, but I can't seem to find the solution on the forum or in the knowledgebase.

Any tips are welcome here !

Thanks,

Harald Franzen

Re:Sorry, security check failed - 2007/08/18 13:07 Well, I just tried it in Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11 and here it says:

Your email is stored as a registered user, please login to manage your mailing lists subscriptions

Hope this helps in telling how to fix it !

Thanks,

Re:Sorry, security check failed - 2007/08/18 16:05 G'Day Harald

The unsubscribe feature has been thoroughly tested and we have had no issues with it to date.

Can you please log a support ticket in our Helpdesk about this and supply as much information as possible including exact links that are not working correctly

Hope this helps

SOLVED: Re:Sorry, security check failed - 2007/08/19 00:16 Thanks to the super fast support I got, the issue is cleared up.

The users I have subscribed to the newsletter(s) are registered Joomla! users too.
The unsubscribe will work flawlessly once the user trying to unsubscribe logs in.

Best regards,

Harald Franzen

Re:Sorry, security check failed - 2008/01/16 08:28 I fully understand that you guys have thoroughly tested the unsubscribe and it works great, but a large percentage of people on any email list are likely to be running firefox. If they are running firefox, and when they try to unsubscribe, they get "Sorry, security check failed". How in the world are they supposed to know to login? Are they supposed to guess?

Thank you,
Jeremy

If you are having an issue then please log a ticket in our helpdesk and we will look into it.

Previously the only time we have found issues with the security check has been in the email client has split the url across multiple lines so that not all of the link is entered when clicked or pasted into the browser.

Hope this helps
