Is SM2 Email configurable? - 2008/09/01 03:20 Hi

I like the idea that SM2 Email can have plugins that can based on data with other components, such as community builder and virtuemart. I am keen to know if SM2 Email is configurable, such that we will be able to write their own plugins to be able to send emails to relevant users based on different "trigger events".

Re:Is SM2 Email configurable? - 2008/09/01 19:39 It is certainly possible to write your own plugins, however we do not have any documentation at this stage to facilitate this.

Also we do not support "trigger events". SM2 Email Marketing is not desgined to be an auto-responder. Message must be sent by adding to and process the queue. You cannot have an SM2 Email Marketing message sent to a user immediately after registration for example.

Hi Tony.

Is there anything wrong in processing the que from a cron job?
All you have to do then is to write a plugin that looks for new user registrations, and then let the cron job handle the que every 5 minutes or so?

Would that not be a solution to the "event" issues.
